Melinda Thurman Adcock, 48, of Hamburg died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Adcock was a native of Crossett and was raised in Gloster, Mississippi. She was a resident of Hamburg for the past six years and a former resident of Lacey for many years. She was a member of the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mike “Droopy” Adcock in 1997; a son, Bradley Thurman; her mother, Margurite King Dickinson; her grandparents, Collie & Bonnie Thurman and Smead & Hazel King.
She is survived by a son, Garrett Marshall Thurman; her father and step-mother, Marshall & Irene Thurman all of Lacey; three brothers, Gary Grubbs of Hot Springs, Dennis Grubbs of Pasadena, Texas and Butch Thurman of Gloster, Mississippi; a sister, Mitzi Williams of Crossett; a special friend, Roy Vail and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services and burial are 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in the Lacey Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Carpenter officiating. Pallbearers are Chris Williams, Trey Williams, Kipp Carter and Cameron Stain.
